...And I got my Student ID!

Yes! I finally got my student ID Card here at Linnaeus University!

I think it is great that LNU gives us the chance to become a member of the Swedish university system, and experience it like an insider. Well, we ARE insiders now. Having this card means a lot of things, it does not only identifies you as a member of this learning community. For example, you can get discounts in shops, you always have you Swedish Personnummer at hand (believe me, it is more important than you think) and you get access to student bars, pubs, unions..... and NATIONS!!!!

Yes, I'm talking about this old swedish tradition that has filled Lund and Uppsala university with student houses representing the diverse provinces of Sweden, which initially were for the student of these localities to join and feel at home far away from home and socialise with others from the same provinces. LNU also have them, but sadly not in Kalmar campus, but Växjo. Nowadays, this particularity does largely not apply anymore, but hey, even me, being born in Östergötland, was irrationally proud of my nation in Uppsala, (and therefore, I took a picture).

Uppsala. Did I mention we are actually going to Uppsala in one week? YES! Pia and I found a bargain flight to Arlanda, so.... here we come!  AND I CANNOT WAIT. HONESTLY. It is my favourite place in Sweden, or the world, or at least of my heart, because certainly, all the wonderful people I met have become very important in my life, in every aspect. All the places I have discovered there have become the scenery of my dreams and the city, oh boy, the city is like a second home to me. No matter the time of the day or year I feel safe, loved and blessed. And that is a lot to say, don't you think?

Lots of love,

Amelie
